Thank you for the support a lot of you have given the Sharpe family medical situations in Brisbane, we are all deeply touched by the calls and concern, thanks again.
Denise and I have been speaking about the road sign which hopefully will be finalised by the end of the week, the sign is directing visitors North and South on the Bruce Highway to turn off to Airlie Beach, thanks Peter J for initiating and organising this project.
Membership will hopefully be boosted with Nick becoming a new member with a transfer from his old club.  Nick is working at Northerlies, so say Hi if you visit the newly opened resort.  Hopefully we will see another new member  Geoff, watch this space for some inductions.
The Turtle is safely waiting at Plants Whitsunday, unfortunately we are in the busiest 3 weeks of the whole year starting this week.  We will put the plan into action with our helpers as soon as possible.  I have been in touch with George Christensen's office explaining the hold up with finalising this one, school holidays and noting that everyone involved in the placement are very busy.
Dalwyn applied for and we have just received a District grant to of $12200.00 for the heritage signage, so we can go ahead with all of this - thank you for keeping up with the admin side and enabling our club to go forward with this, thanks again Dalwyn.
I look forward to seeing you all again on Monday night - a special thanks for PP John for hosting the last meeting, I really appreciate everyone's assistance in these interesting times.
Have a quality day and god bless.
President Ken.
Ouchy - good luck Aiden

Meeting at a Glance

Last Meeting at a Glance
Welcome to LMAAG. Another Rotary meeting under our belt with now too many to  go.
This week we had John D’Anna PHF Gold coast club visiting our area. John was staying at Port of Airlie and enjoying his time off.
Just what we needed ANOTHER John in the room. It was great to meet another Rotarian who was from outside our area.
John Harvison was back from his holiday and once again guest of Allan Robinson. Another face becoming common at our meetings is Geoff Newby-Butt who will soon be settling into his Strathdickie home. Geoff showed us some photos – beautiful timber home built by Irene and Owen of Butterfly Effect Nursery.
Merewyn spoke briefly of her DG trek and she proclaimed that Rotary was alive and well in the N.T.
There was the return of two staples of RCAB – Re-induction of Denise Norder and THE RAFFLE!!  Vouchers have been donated by Fat Frog Café, Anchor Bar and Beagles Pizza for our door ticket raffle. This was very much appreciated by those at the meeting.
Apologies from President Ken as he is in Brisbane making sure the surgeons fix Aidens leg.! Not sure about Mr Bogie but I expect he was very busy as usual.
The Sergeants fine of the week was to John Mol – for his lack of mentorship to Ken. Ken didn’t realise he was on call 24/7.
The Raffle was won by Jan Clifford. She received a Fat Frog Café voucher. Please make sure you thank Naomi if you are in her Café.
Thanks Denise.

Meeting the Saints

What a great idea!

During August, (Membership and New Club Development month), the Rotary Club of Townsville Saints held a "bring a friend" morning at their breakfast meeting, with seven friends attending to learn about what it is like to be a "Saint"! What a great way to open the opportunity for more people to join this great team of Rotarians!

Just a friendly reminder about your Rotary Dues, contact Dalwyn if you require another copy of your invoice - Thanks
Hi all
This brand new Whitsundays event will be going ahead as planned, and there has been a lot of work behind the scenes for a few months, bringing a huge array of artistic talent and workshops over 3 days 3-5 October (a long weekend).   It will be happening in the Fairy Tree Park next to the lagoon/creek car park.  Food vans will be in the car park.
Obviously volunteers will be required, and we’d love to have you, not only attending the event, but also to assist for just a few hours.  You will be rewarded with an event T-shirt and a $10 food voucher at Beaches.  Whitsundays is well known for amazing community events and we’ve all been missing out this year. It’s time to ramp up a few more now.
Please go to the event website, check out the actual event and hit the button that says “volunteer”.
Here is the website link if you want to forward that onto your friends
Kind regards
